Simply put, an EMR module is a piece of a patient's electronic medical record. This allows FreeMED to be infinitely extensible in terms of a patient's record, while not requiring modification of core routines. In the default template, these are configurable per user, so not every user has to see every part of the record (for example, a gastrointestinal surgeon doesn't need gynecology data).
